Reflective Encouragement

Smile Power

We hold within us the power to brighten a persons day from the inside out.   Really, it’s called smiling.  According to numerous studies every time we smile we reduce our stress level, reduce our blood pressure, and boost our immune system.   Of course the first noticeable result is the positive emotion that  bubbled up to the surface and crowded out the negative emotions.   Are you smiling now just thinking about the power of your smile?

Smiles are contagious so be careful you don’t want to smile at just anyone, you might get accused of being contagiously positive.   Of course I’m not being serious smile away!   Hebrews 10:24-25Hebrews 10:24-25

, asks us to “consider how we can spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging  one another— and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”   I want us to consider how a smile can be apart of our plan to encourage others on toward love and staying connected.

Even if we start out faking our smile we release the power of a smile both within us and to those around us.  Somehow I believe this is another amazing unique design of God to help us encourage one another.  I know from experience with my children that even if I fake a smile eventually a sour puss mood will quickly turn around to giggling for no reason.

Are you ready to put the power of your smile to the test?

Let’s head out this week empowered with our secret weapon, our smile, and encourage everyone we see.

I get it if you are not the most confident smiler,  I never have really liked my smile but others love it.  It took me years to get over my self consciousness about my smile insecurity and I’ve been flashing my secret weapon ever since.  You can too.

Today is the one year anniversary of my Mother’s passing so I will be smiling through tears as I remember her beautiful smile and her ever positive and trust perspective of life.  Thank you Mom!

Be sure to share a comment about your smile power experience this week.

Have a blessed and powerful week smiling!

May you experience the peace of God as you anchor your hope in Him today and always. Stay strong in the Lord!
