Empowered in Weakness

Which will leave us with regret?
— the things we have done or left undone????

Often we put off or avoid doing things because we don’t think we are good enough and we are afraid of failing.  Mark Twain’s insight about regrets— “twenty years from now you will be more disappointed with the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did.”   Is he right?   Take a moment to think of something you have done recently that you are thankful won’t be a regret.  Hold on to it, don’t let it get overpowered by a disappointment of anything currently undone.

My something was saying “yes”  to the journey of writing a Bible Study.  Was I ready?  No!  Was I skilled to do it? No!  Have I failed on the journey? Yes, many times, and I have the pile of over six revisions and endless edits to prove it.  Has it been worth it?  Yes!  The lessons I have learned are priceless and I know I still have many more in front of me.

My favorite lesson, that continuously bubbles to the top, is a truth found in 1 Corinthians 1:281 Corinthians 1:28

.  These verses bring together the reality that the Lord chooses to use the weak and foolish things of this world to magnify His might as He alone empowers His people to out shine the things of this world.  Even though I would not have been recognized as prepared for the task before me, writing a Bible Study, according to the world’s standards; I have been reminded over and over that when I give the Lord my trust, belief, and obedience He takes my weakness and shines brightly as He strengthens me and He is glorified because I’m stepping out with Him.

We often see this truth unfold before us.  The stories of the unqualified who rise above the storm of circumstances because they trusted God with the little they had to meet a greater need.  Kind of like Jesus’ disciples; they noticed the crowd of over 5,000 was hungry.   Then they brought the need to Jesus and He told them what to do.   The disciples trusted, believed and were obedient with the loaves of bread and fish they gathered which ended up meeting a need they recognized before them (Luke 9:12-17Luke 9:12-17

).  Before the disciples recognized it as a miracle, the large crowd was stirring with excitement and knew Jesus was the source of the miracle.   Why do I share these tidbit stories with you?  Well, because my heart’s prayer is that they will spark a fire within you to trust God, to believe God, and to be obedient to Him with the little that we have to give.  He’s waiting for us to put what we have, no matter how little, in His hands so He will be magnified through all He plans to accomplish through us!

The “great commission” (Matthew 28:16-20Matthew 28:16-20

) is all about seeing a need, bringing what we can offer (fish and bread) to Him.    When we bring our weak and foolish state to Him, He alone, is able to multiply our little, according to the world’s standards, to the greatness of His kingdom.

Royal Reflections~ The Making of a Warrior Princess” is an example of my own journey of trust, belief, and obedience.  The light that shines through this, recently released, Bible Study is the majesty of the King of Kings, Christ in me.  I hope it will inspire many to their own journey of trust, belief, and obedience with Christ.    The questions we are daily left with are……

Do we trust Him?
Do we believe Him?
Will we be obedient?

Please share how I can pray for you on your journey.

Remember, no regrets for the things we have done!
