2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All scripture is God-breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
The time we spend digging into the word of God effects our preparedness level for the good works the Lord has prepared for us. According to 2 Timothy 3:16-17 our level of readiness is directly related to our interaction with scripture. Why is scripture so directly tied to our ability to live out God’s plan for us? The word of God is the main source for the Lord to communicate with his people.
Therefore it is our direct connection with the Lord. When we are intentionally reading and meditating on scripture we will learn and grow in righteousness. I know there have been many times when I have been reading the word and a section of verses will strike deep emotions in my heart and bring clarity to an area of my life that is causing challenges in my life. Maybe you can relate?
Remembering the way the Lord teaches me through his word for the purpose of drawing me close to him and equipping me for the plans he has for me motivates me to be intentional about daily spending time with him in his word.
To be ready for the work of the Lord calls us to be intentional about our training in righteousness. We must remember the wisdom of this world is but foolishness compared to the wisdom of the King of Kings.
Let’s be intentional about being ready!
Be Strong ~ Be Courageous ~ Be Careful ~ Be Ready in the Lord!
Be Alert~ Stay Strong~ Pray Always
