Alter Ego’s are Revealing

Altering our ego can give us a new perspective and in many cases new found confidence.   Halloween in America is a time when people do just that they alter their ego by taking on a masked personality through a costume that gives them a temporary new identity.   It can be fun, empowering, and enlightening all in one because you learn about others as you interact in a new space.

My daughter shared a new show that finds talent called “Alter Ego” that airs on Fox.   Have you seen it? I really enjoyed the few episodes we watched. It was inspiring because we heard the heart behind the vocal artist and why they want to perform as an alter digital ego rather than themselves. Yes, you read that right they perform backstage and an 4D avatar, they create, actually performs as them in front of the judges. I was brought to tears numerous times because these artists are so talented but they have limited themselves from stepping fully into their talents because of insecurities about their looks and perceived expectations of others. But when they perform backstage as their alter ego they rock it like they are in the comfort of their own living room.

I can definitely relate.     How about you?

I think often as children of God we limit our self because we misplace our Royal identity and sink back. Rather than living from the confidence and power we have as children of the King who were purposefully chosen for adoption into God’s royal family.

Our focus verse this week is Ephesians 1:4-5Ephesians 1:4-5

(For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ in accordance with his pleasure and will.)   Reminds us that in love, God chose us before the creation of the world as his children for his pleasure and will.

Please let the reality of being chosen as a child of the King of kings sink in. Our identity is royal and given to us because of God’s love for us through his grace and mercy. Our new name gives us a Royal alter ego to confidently stand in.   The Lord wants us to renew our thinking and transform our hearts with his royal love and live clothed in our new identity his righteousness for his glory.

What is holding you back for fully embracing your new royal identity and confidently living as the renewed and transformed child of the King that you are in Christ?

I encourage you to read through Ephesians 1 and 2 every day this week to help refocus your heart and mind on your true royal identity in Christ.

Maybe you want to dig deeper into your royal identity. If that is you I’m super excited to announce that my Bible study “Royal Reflections- The Making of a Warrior Princess” is being revised and the 2.0 version will be release in Spring of 2022.   You can get a mini preview of the first week of my first edition on Amazon. It will be a wonderful place to start.

Stay strong and live your true royal identity in Christ!
